Daesh leaders face trial after Coalition Air Raid

Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently

On 6 September a meeting took place of the most prominent leaders of Daesh with leaders coming from Iraq in the Islamic court building of Daesh which was formerly the Finance Directorate building of Raqqa.

The meeting was organized with an aura of secrecy and nobody was informed on it except its so-called leaders, There were a number of elements that were charged with the protection of the building. They were told by the organization that their presence was necessary in order to guard prisoners, and they did not have any knowledge of who the persons actually were, according to a source from within the organization.

The reporter of Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently in Raqqa was able to obtain information from within the organization that the reason that the meeting was to be held in the Islamic Court was exactly because of the presence of a large number of prisoners. Their presence would allegedly protect the Daesh leadership from raids of the coalition, as there would be a continuous natural movement around the building which would cover up the real nature of what was going on in it. A coalition aircraft carried out several raids on the building that afternoon, causing considerable damage in addition to the killing of a large number of Daesh elements, around 20 of them, and the death of Abu Hamza al-Masri the Daesh judge in the Sharia court of Raqqa and the amputation of a leg of Abu Abdullah al-Anbari along with the killing of nine prisoners who were present in the prison building. Daesh pointed the finger to the leaders attending the meeting accusing them of leaking information on the meeting, which would have led to its being targeted by coalition aircraft, according to the words of a special source from within the organization from whom the reporter of Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently got information without disclosing his identity.

He said: ‘After the wounded were taken care of an altercation of words occurred between the delegation from Iraq with the leaders of the city of Raqqa as in one way or the other the news of the date and place of the meeting had reached the coalition aircraft’. And the source continues: ‘Daesh has opened up an investigation in order to find out who leaked the news and arrested subsequently two persons from Iraq and three leaders from Raqqa on the charge of suspicions that they had been collaborating with foreign sources, handing them over information.

The investigation is still underway to reach a conclusion and to determine the perpetrator(s)’. It is not the first incident that the organization has accused its own leaders of dealing with foreign countries. It executed in the past a number of its leaders in Raqqa and Deir Ezzor on charges of leaking information, including Abu Abdullah al-Kuwaiti, Abu Yusuf al-Kuwaiti and Abu Maryam al-Tunisi who were executed by the end of 2014, on charges of dealing with Western intelligence services and leaking important information to them.
