ISIS Curriculum and Educational System

RBSS

The terrorist group did not miss any opportunity to control the life style of Raqqa people, among which was education. ISIS has worked systematically on sabotaging education process in Raqqa province and rebuilt it based on the group’s rules and radical methodology.
ISIS has closed the schools, burnt all students’ papers and details and banned several educational subjects such as physics, chemistry, philosophy, biology and Christian religious education, along with questioning some of what came in Islamic education, math, art and foreign language subjects.
The terrorist group reopened schools again but this time according to its own vision and curricula. Teaching its own radical and brutal Islamic rules to children from different ages, was the group’s strategy to control the children and convince them to follow the groups goals taking advantage of their small age.
Regarding the most important subjects according to ISIS vision, Fiqih and Arabic language are the most important ones along with fitness classes which start with vigorous exercises and then trainings on different types of weapons.
Students were not the only victim of ISIS education system; teachers also were victims of this system when the terrorist group imposed them to attend Shariah courses followed by repentance courses in which teachers pledge not to teach the old curricula, the atheist curricula as ISIS consider.
Moreover, at first ISIS had closed all universities and banned several colleges such as faculty of low. After that, the terrorist group established faculty of medicine and nursery, which the group is really in need of, with a reduced years of schooling to half what is used to.
Brainwash is what the group’s educational system based on. The educational system which most of Raqqa people have refused and faced it with either leaving the group’s controlled aria or not sending their children to the group’s schools.
