42 children died because of Thalassemia in 2014, with documented names because of the bad situation experienced by the health sector in Raqqa, where ISIS group prevents many medical organizations of work, and because of the lack of support for Thalassemia Center in Raqqa, and lack of awareness of the importance of the analysis that must be made before the marriage, because the origin of this disease is hereditary.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thalassemia (anemia Mediterranean basin) is attributable to a defect in the genes cause chronic anemia, where affects the blood-making process, so the hemoglobin in red blood cells is unable to do its function, what causes chronic anemia in children’s blood in early stage of age, as a result of receiving two infected genes, one from father and the other from mother, this disease may leads to death in some patients, and it’s diagnosed by the laboratory test known as electric deportation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thalassemia Center in Raqqa is dying… human and moral disaster is coming<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thalassemia Center in Raqqa is the main center in the eastern region of Syria, where nearly 369 children from Raqqa and 300 children from eastern provinces in addition to displaced children were receiving treatment at this center, the most important work by the center to save children was:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Monthly blood transfusion to maintain normal hemoglobin levels in blood.<\/strong>
\n2. Provide medicines and treatment needs that are used on a daily basis.<\/strong>
\n3. Providing alcohol, plaster, cotton, allergy injection and blood transfusion equipment.<\/strong>
\n4. periodical laboratory analysis to monitor hemoglobin and iron percentage in blood.<\/strong>
\n5. provide psychological support for children and subsidies and communicate with the Red Crescent to help them.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The risk of treatment neglecting :<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Severe chronic anemia.<\/strong>
\n2. Bone abnormalities especially in skull, and other bones of body in general, and thinning of the bones.<\/strong>
\n3. physical and mental growth delay and delay in puberty.<\/strong>
\n4. liver and spleen enlargement, causing inflation in the abdomen.<\/strong>
\n5. problems in the teeth.<\/strong>
\n6. immune weakness which may lead to death.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The number of deaths has increased due to the loss of all essential types of medicines at the center, causing what called Iron poisoning due to high iron levels in blood, and we here mention children names who have died during 2014 for lack of Thalassemia treatment:<\/strong><\/p>\n
