August 2014

– The execution of American journalist James Foley, where the campaign appointed the place of his execution in the village of Rtalah near Union University.

– Air raids on Raqqa by regime’s warplanes, fall of dozens of martyrs and hundreds of wounded.

– Clashes between ISIS and regime forces in the vicinity of Brigade 93 ended with controlling it after a series of suicide bombings, and seize heavy weapons which allowed them to open the Battle of Ein Arab, recording escape cases for large numbers of Brigade’s soldiers, most of them arrived in the areas under regime’s control and Tabaqa military airport, despite the complete blockade of the brigade, where all the land surrounding it was under the control of the group.

– ISIS evacuated some of its positions from the southern side of the airport, a violent attack by ISIS at the airport but they suffered heavy human losses reached more than 400 people, at the end they controlled the airport on August 22, where the regime’s losses were equivalent to the losses of ISIS near 400 dead and prisoner, and the escape of large numbers of regime’s soldiers to the city of Salamiyeh.

– Fierce airstrikes on the city of Raqqa after the fall of the airport, which led to the fall of 20 martyrs as a result of these air raids, execution operations of the prisoners from the airport in different parts of the governorate.
